Are you suffering from excessive hair growth in the oddest of spots? Well, there’s nothing to worry about anymore because one of the most advanced laser hair-removal procedures has made it into the market. It’s called the ClearScan YAG.
ClearScan YAG’s 1064 nm Nd: YAG pulse duration and wavelength are unrivaled when it comes to permanent hair removal and vascular lesion removal. Whether its facial veins or telangiectasias, ClearScan YAG can take care of it all.
The 1064 nm wavelength is highly selective and it boasts very strong absorption in melanin and oxyhemoglobin. As a result, it can select the exact veins and hair follicles that need to be targeted, which makes it easier to produce top-notch clinical results.
It also boasts contact cooling, making the treatment as safe as possible for all skin types.
ClearScan YAG’s fast speed, LAPG (Large Area Pattern Generator), powerful cooling, non-sequential scanning, and the flat-top beam profile deliver perfect results while ensuring patient comfort.
How it Works
ClearScan relies on laser or light energy to get the job done. You see, the melanin in our hair follicles absorbs the laser energy, which is then converted to heat. The heat damages the hair deep down to the follicle.
Proper reduction of hair is achieved only when it is in the growth stage. The reduction is said to be permanent when a large amount of the eliminated hair does not return for extended periods of time or for periods longer than the total hair growth cycle.
With repeated treatments, most of the hair can be removed. Even if it grows back, it will be lighter and finer than it used to be.
Applications of ClearScan YAG
ClearScan has received clearance from the FDA and can be used for the purposes of treating vascular/vein conditions and permanent hair reduction. The latter deals with the removal of excess or unwanted hair via the selective selection of melanin in the hair follicles. Permanent hair reduction is also suggested as a treatment for conditions like pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB).
As for treating vascular and vein issues, the list usually includes port wine stains, warts, vascular lesions, rosacea, telangiectasia, hemangiomas, leg veins, and spider veins.
What to Expect
The exact number of ClearScan treatments can vary from patient to patient. Your surgeon or physician will provide you with a personalized treatment plan that’s developed in line with the goals you have in mind. Your surgeon may even combine the treatment with a range of other aesthetic procedures, making the treatment more personalized.
Before the procedure begins, your surgeon or physician will discuss the various aspects of it. She will also determine whether or not you need a topical anesthetic agent to be applied on the skin before it is treated with the laser.
The time taken for each treatment session will depend on the size of the area that needs to be targeted. The continuous cooling feature will make sure you stay comfortable and safe.
