Q. How does JENESIS LASER PEEL work?

A. JENESIS LASER PEEL regulates the melanin activity, causing the melanocytes (pigment producing cells) to slow down over-production and function in a more uniform way. This is the “suppression” factor and the reason JENESIS LASER PEEL is effective.

JENESIS LASER PEEL is “sun-friendly”, an especially appreciated factor for our California lifestyle, and works well even on the darker tones of Asian, Latin American and Middle Eastern skin. JENESIS LASER PEEL will also produce a slight initial “peel” which lightly refinishes the skin surface while dramatically diminishing hyper-pigmentation

Q. What is the initial procedure with JENESIS LASER PEEL?

A. The initial treatment with JENESIS LASER PEEL is always done in the clinic. The first part involves evaluation of the skin type by the doctor. The cleansing of the skin is done with aqua and an acetone containing product. The cleansing removes all the dead cells and old debris.

After the skin washing, JENESIS LASER PEEL 1 is applied. The mask is left on for a total of 4-8 hours depending on your skin type. Following this, you will be allowed to go home with the mask on. After the initial application time has elapsed, the mask is removed with water and a neutral cleanser.

Immediately following the cleansing of the face, the mesoestetic Hydra-vital factor K cream is applied.

Q. What is the maintenance JENESIS LASER PEEL program?

A. The second stage is the home maintenance program. It consists of the daily application of the Peel 2 cream. The cream is applied 2-3 times a day, for the first two weeks following the application of the mask, then once a day from then on. Continual daily use is recommended for the best results.

Q. When can one see the results of JENESIS LASER PEEL?

A. In most cases, the skin blemishes start to disappear within the first week after starting treatment. The darker the skin, the longer the time it takes for the spots to disappear. The skin starts to appear shiny and healthy in 2-3 weeks. In most individuals the darken spots can not be seen in 4-6 weeks.

Q. What should I expect after my first treatment?

A.

  • The skin will turn red in most individuals and may appear like a sun burn
  • For those who have very sensitive skin, an itchy feeling may occur- which subsides in the next 48 hours
  • Most will feel a slight burning and tightening of the skin- this is a normal feeling and part of the process. These symptoms will subside in 24-48 hours
  • To limit the itchy and burning sensation, it is recommended that one apply the cream included in the JENESIS LASER PEEL package whenever necessary

After the first 48 hours, the symptoms resolve in most individual. The reddening and skin flaking is soon replaced by normal healthy skin. All the reddish spots fade over the next few days.

Q. Are there any precautions before I can apply JENESIS LASER PEEL?

A. It must be known if the individual has undergone any previous treatments, especially with glycolic acid. If this is confirmed, one must wait at least a week before using JENESIS LASER PEEL.

Q. Is JENESIS LASER PEEL an all year round therapy?

A. Yes, JENESIS LASER PEEL can be used year round.

Q. Can the skin blemishes or spots return if I stop using JENESIS LASER PEEL?

A. Yes, unfortunately JENESIS LASER PEEL is only a temporary solution. In order to avoid skin blemishes from returning, it is necessary to apply Cosmelan regularly. When Cosmelan is not used, a sun block should be applied.

Q. What follow up is required after JENESIS LASER PEEL?

A. Follow up visits are recommended 2-4 weeks after the beginning of treatment, and monthly after, for a period of 3-6 months. Other follow up are on an as-needed basis.
