Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is a Liquid Facelift?
A. The liquid facelift is a non-surgical procedure which relies on injections of dermal fillers and injectables to achieve results comparable to surgical facelifts. Fillers and other injectables, such as Botox, are used to fill hollows and plump features such as cheeks, to reduce lines and wrinkles, and to firm skin, resulting in an overall rejuvenated, more youthful appearance.*
*Individual results may vary.

Q. Who is a candidate for a Liquid Facelift?
A. Nearly any individual in good general health who wants to achieve a more youthful, rested, rejuvenated appearance is a candidate for the liquid facelift technique.

Q. What areas does a Liquid Facelift improve?
A. The liquid facelift can treat nearly any area of the face, including:

  • Eyes
  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Lips
  • Wrinkles and lines occurring nearly anywhere on the face, including nasolabial lines
  • Forehead

Q. Who is not a candidate for a Liquid Facelift?
A. You may not be an ideal candidate for the liquid facelift procedure if you experience any of the following:

  • Neuromuscular or cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Bleeding or autoimmune disorders
  • Sensitivities to individual products which are used in the liquid facelift procedure (your specialist will test you for allergies)

Be sure to discuss any health concerns or medications with your specialist prior to undergoing the procedure.

Q. How is the procedure performed?
A. Depending on the fillers being used and the areas being treated, your specialist will use a topical or local anesthetic to numb the injection sites before beginning your procedure. In some cases, a nerve block may also be used. Once the treatment areas are numb, your specialist will inject each area, using a different needle for each individual product. You can expect most injections to last only a few seconds, with the entire procedure taking less than an hour to perform.

Q. Is the procedure painful?
A. You may feel some slight discomfort from the injections during the procedure, but anesthetics applied before, and sometimes during, the procedure will minimize this discomfort.

Q. What is the recovery like?
A. In general, the recovery time is minimal, with some slight redness, swelling, bruising and discomfort occurring in some patients. Ice packs and over-the-counter medications can be used to treat these after-effects.

Q. When will I begin to see results?
A. Immediately after your liquid facelift you’ll be able to see the initial results, and you can expect those results to evolve and improve during the days that follow, as Botox begins to take effect and any initial swelling and redness resolves.

Q. What will the long-term results be like?
A. The duration of your results will vary, based on the filler or in injectable used. Fillers last generally from a few months to as long as two years. The effects of Botox usually wear off in about six months. You can prolong your results through touch-up procedures, and your specialist can help develop a schedule that will keep you looking your best.

Q. What are the risks?
A. Any injection carries a small risk of infection. Individuals with herpes may have an increased risk when the area around the lips is injected. Less than 5 percent of individuals treated with Botox experience a drooping eyelid or eyebrow. Immediately after injection, some fillers may cause tiny lumps to form under the skin, which will disappear as the material spreads out. Individuals with specific health conditions may face additional risks, and your specialist will be able to discuss these with you.

Q. How many sessions are needed?
A. The liquid facelift procedure is designed to achieve satisfactory results with just one or two procedure.

Q. When can one return to work after a Liquid Facelift?
A. Most men and women resume their regular activities right after their procedures.

Q. What are the advantages of a Liquid Facelift over other procedures?

A. The liquid facelift technique offers many advantages over other procedures, including:

  • No need for general anesthesia
  • No need for incisions
  • Can be performed on an outpatient basis
  • Quick recovery time
  • Treatment individualized to specific areas
  • Quick results

Q. Is the Liquid Facelift procedure approved for use in USA?
A. All of the products used in the liquid facelift procedure are approved for use in the USA.
